This painting was inspired by some photos I took on a hike around Point Lobos near Carmel, CA on Dec 16, 2019. Maybe our last vacation before the Covid outbreak. Anyway, sheltering from the virus gave me a lot of time to work on this particular piece and it was good to remember that beautiful place. These are “Brown Pelicans” but they are more grey and white with yellow, orange and black highlights. Some would argue their beauty, but I believe they are gorgeous – especially in flight. It is mesmerizing to watch them soar and dive as they hunt for fish.
