Take a boat from Interlaken or Brienz Switzerland and stop at the Grand Hotel Giessbach.  This painting was based on several photos I took of Giessbach falls as we hiked to a location near the center of the falls you see in the painting.  From there you can actually continue the hike behind the falls to the other side.  This paticular fall is only one of at least 7-8 falls in the cascade that ultimately spill into Lake Brienz.   The bear was included to add interest (artistic license!) although the Falls are so beautiful, they don’t need much help!
